Follow the road until it intersects with the CCC trail at the creek. You can continue on the road to the left and go by the quarry or take the short cut up and bypass a couple of switchbacks on the road. You can do this a couple of times. The boot path on the shortcuts is faint to none existent.
Once you hit the saddle between Bessemer and Moolock, take the road on the left and head to the borrow pit. On the north side look for the path to the west. In about a mile you will come to a "seating" area, shortly after that is a large talus that goes all the way up to the ridge line. We had always missed this spot on previous attempts but this time I was the cairn. We started up the rock and quickly noticed the rocks were not stable and in fact there had been a slide where we were heading up. I decided go up on the left side staying close to the trees. Once on the ridge you just keep going up. Occasionally you may see evidence of a path.
View of Moolock about a half mile after the borrow pit. Not looking very good for views from the top.
Blue on top Moolock looking towards Russian Butte. This was the only direction with a view and only for a few minutes.
