A wonderful sunny day for a hike. A couple inches of snow fell during the night on McClellan Butte starting at about 4,500 feet. Looking across I-90, it looks like P3 had a heavy snow with a little less on Mt Daniels and very little on Bandera Mt.
As the sun started melting the snow in the trees, it caused a cold rain to fall. Once we made the turn to the west side of the ridge, we were in the shade and the temperature was below freezing, no more rain.
Fun time
Making the turn at the end of the ridge.
New No Trespassing signs for the Cedar River Watershed have been posted all along the end of the ridge.
Mt Rainier from the end of the ridge.
On the shading side of the ridge.
At the base of the rock scramble to the top, this is we stop.
