A Snoqualmie Middle Fork road hike. Generally don't see anyone on the trail, but today we saw three people heading up for an overnight at the lake. We met them just before they hit the yellow jacket nest in the middle of the trail. Two weeks in a row for yellow jackets, what luck. There weren't any flags this time. I was alerted when Blue got stung and came back down the trail to get away from the nest.
The trail head.
The bridge over the river a short distance from the trail head.
The new Pratt River trail includes a new bridge over Rainy Creek. The turn off for the Rainy Lake trail is just after the bridge.
Prior to the new bridge and trail, this is where you crossed the creek. This a picture from 1-24-2010.
A good portion of the trail.
The yellow jacket nest is the light color in the center of the picture.
The rocky trail.
The muddy trail.
A few years ago, the log was higher and the trail went under it.

Stick time!
Almost back to the bridge along the new Pratt River trail.
